A donation to the Foundation’s general fund may be allocated by the donor to engineering, geoscience, or unrestricted use.
Periodically, the Foundation will approach the University of Manitoba (Price Faculty of Engineering and Department of Earth Sciences) or the University of Brandon (Department of Geology) to submit potential projects to which the Foundation could contribute. Alternatively, the universities may approach the Foundation.
The Dr. Ganpat S. Lodha Bursaries (University of Manitoba) and the paleontology and mineral display cases (Brandon University) are examples of where the Foundation has provided leveraging funds that enabled the universities to acquire matching funding from the Province.
A $2,000 donation to the University Technology Fund is an example of a small project that made a big difference to four students, who were able to purchase laptops/computers.
A $7,650 contribution to the Stanley Pauley Building is an example of how the Foundation developed its own matching funding program, using general donations funds.
These projects illustrate how general donations can contribute in large and small ways to positive change for tomorrow’s engineers and geoscientists.
