Each year, the past presidents of the professional Association (Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba) donate to a library book fund at the Foundation. From this fund, books are purchased for the engineering library at Price Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba.
In 2006, the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba’s Past Presidents Library Project Committee arranged the first purchase of publications to be donated to the Donald W. Craik Engineering Library. Over the years the collection has moved and is part of the main university library collection at the Jim Peebles Science and Technology Library.
In 2020, the most recent purchase was arranged — 27 books at a cost of $4,725.
To date, about 95 books have been purchased, at a cost of $11,690.
We raised $1,550 in 2021 and $1,075 in 2022-2023.
We are currently negotiating the purchase of six books, including one electronic book. We have identified two additional books to be purchased in the coming year.
We are hoping to raise about $500 in 2024.
