In 2009, Council of the professional Association, now called Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, agreed to the establishment of an endowment fund through the Foundation (EGEF).
During the Engineers Canada Fellowship awards in 2010, while receiving his Fellowship, Alan Pollard, a director of the Foundation (EGEF), presented a personal cheque of $10,000 to kick off the endowment program. With an initial deposit of $20,000, EGEF established an endowment fund with The Winnipeg Foundation in 2013. Interest from the fund may be re-invested, directed to eligible donees at EGEF’s discretion, or used for EGEF operations.
The total capital contributions to the Engineers and Geoscientists Education Foundation Inc. Fund as of December 31, 2021 were $141,045.47. The total value of the endowment fund as of May 31, 2021 was $217,230.77.
